Step-by-Step Instructions for making the Junk Journal Mini Folder
This is a quick and easy project to make. To get started, print the free printable pages onto sheets of cardstock. Make sure to print the backing on the underside of the folder.
There are lots of different pieces includes different shapes and sizes cards and tags, as well as tickets, stamps and labels.
Make creases along the printed guidelines on the folder, then cut out all the pieces. Fold and press along the creaselines of the folder using a bone folder.
The folder can be assembled in different ways.
- Cut the end section off then fold the bottom pockets up to create two bottom pockets.
- Cut away the second bottom pocket, then fold the first bottom pocket up, and the end section over to create one bottom pocket and a long side pocket.
- Fold the bottom pockets up and fold the end section over the front cover to create a closure.
First fold the pieces to check that they all fit correctly. You may need to cut down the center of the two pockets and trim away a small section from the sides so that the cover folds over easily.
To attach the bottom pockets apply a narrow line of glue or a thin piece of double sided tape to each side of the pockets.
Fold the pockets up and press in place.
You could use a piece of ribbon or lace as a tie closure, or use the included label embellishment.
To attach the label, glue along the left half on the underside of the label and position it on the front cover so that you can use the other half as a closure by slipping the foldover section underneath. Then let the glue dry.
