Learn how to develop a regular moon journaling practice using moon manifesting cards.
Manifesting with the moon is a fun and creative way to achieve your goals and dreams. When aligning with the rhythm of the moon’s phases you can take advantage of the moon’s powerful energy. This helps to bring about transformation in your life.
Working with the two main phases of the moon, the new moon and the full moon, is a simple way to get started with moon journaling. It doesn’t require much effort or time because you only need to do it twice a month, but you can definitely expect to see results over time.
The best time to do your moon manifesting journaling
The best time to journal with the moon’s phases is at the time of the new and full moon or within 48 hours after. To find out the times and dates of the moon’s phases for your area, visit www.mooninfo.org/ and enter your country, state and town.
How to Get Started with Moon Manifesting
Create a Ritual
A ritual is a powerful thing. It sets an intention that what you’re about to do is special and meaningful.
A ritual doesn’t have to be complicated. Simply set aside some time at each new moon and full moon. Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. You could light a candle or put on some favorite music to relax. Then start writing.
New Moon Intentions
The new moon is a time of new beginnings.
At this time the moon is not visible in the night sky and is just about to emerge and begin a new cycle. This new moon energy is the perfect time to set intentions for things you’d like to see manifest in your life.
To get started setting intentions, on a scrap of paper or in your journal, make a list of all the things you desire. Write as many as you want. These can even be things from a previous month that have not yet manifested. Sometimes it takes a while to get what you really want.
When you’re done, choose one or two that speak to you and write them on your journal card. Choosing to work with only one or two intentions per month will allow you to focus more attention on them in order to manifest them faster.
Carry the card with you throughout the month as a reminder of your intentions. Use it as a bookmark, or stick it on your mirror or fridge door, somewhere you can see it every day. Whenever you look at the card imagine how it will feel when those things have manifested in your life. Your feelings about your dreams and wishes are the most important thing about manifesting. They send a powerful energetic message to the universe that sets things in motion.
Full Moon Release
We make space for new things by letting go of old things.
With the full moon at the beginning of it’s waning phase, this is the perfect time to make additional space for the intentions you set at the new moon to flourish and grow. You can do this by letting go of the things that are no longer working for you or serving you, both physical and mental.
Think about the things that you’re holding onto that you want to let go. Physical things could be all the stuff that is cluttering your home or closet. Mental things could be feelings of worthlessness or frustration, or even old grievances with others. If this process feels difficult, start with a few small, easy things.
Once you’ve completed the journal card, dispose of it as a symbolic act of faith that the things that you want to release are already gone. If you’re getting rid of physical things, make a time or plan to get rid of them. Then rip the card up and toss it in the bin, or burn it. Do whatever feels right for you.
The Power of Gratitude
At the end of each new moon and full moon ritual, write in your gratitude journal how grateful you are – grateful that the intentions you set at the new moon have arrived, and grateful that the space you have created at the full moon allows them to bloom and grow.
