Open the png template in a photo editing program such as photoshop elements or canva.

Place one or several digital papers on layers underneath the template layer. Position as desired.

Save the file in jpg format and print. Or print directly from the photo editing program. Cut out the pieces.

Make a new document the same size as the template either 11″ x 8.1/2″ or 8.1/2″ x 11″.

Import the png template into canva and place on the document frame.

Import a background paper in the same size and place on the document frame.

Select the paper, right click and select Layer > Send Backwards.

Save the file in jpg format and download to your desktop.

Log into your canva account. Click the link in the document included with your template download. When the link opens in your browser, click “edit template”.

The template will open in your canva account. Upload your digital papers.

Drag the paper onto the template until it snaps into place.

If overlays are included with your download, upload the png file and add to your design. Make sure the overlay is on the top layer. Then print, cut and assemble.

Insert a piece of patterned or colored paper into your printer. Open the pdf file in a pdf reader such as Adobe Reader.

Make sure the “page scaling” option (or similar) is set to “none” to ensure that the template prints at the correct size.

Print the file and cut out the pieces.
